Pavla Ovtchinnikova helps clients navigate the complex federal, state, and local laws that govern political and nonprofit activity. Pavla provides clear, realistic counsel that allows clients to effectively maintain political compliance within their organizations. She advises businesses, political committees, nonprofit organizations, campaigns, and individuals on a variety of issues, including campaign finance, lobbying, "pay-to-play," post-employment restrictions, and ethics compliance.

Pavla also advises nonprofit organizations on a range of legal topics, including entity formation, obtaining tax-exempt status, corporate governance, and contract preparation and review. Her work is tailored to the unique goals and objectives of each client.

While earning her law degree, Pavla worked at Venable as a political reports analyst. In this role, she managed the day-to-day logistics of helping high-visibility clients comply with their political reporting obligations. She worked with a variety of entities, including corporations, political committees, trade associations, and nonprofit organizations, to ensure that their lobbying, campaign finance, and pay-to-play filings were accurately and timely filed, while remaining sensitive to shareholder, member, or donor concerns.
