Sophie Ossip

Associate

Sophie Ossip helps her team by providing substantive legal research across various industries within commercial litigation. Sophie handles all stages of proceedings, from early investigation through discovery and dispositive motions. Her experience includes representing clients in antitrust class actions and litigating matters involving advertising and breach of contract. As a judicial intern, Sophie strengthened her legal writing skills while familiarizing herself with different areas of the law, including labor and employment, breach of contract, juvenile law, and family law issues. During her internship, she drafted memorandums advising the court on whether to grant or deny motions for summary judgment and motions to dismiss.

While in law school, Sophie participated in several moot court competitions on issues such as criminal procedure, evidence, and First Amendment law. That experience helped her to develop her research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. In addition, Sophie strengthened her legal writing as a member of the Business Law Review and her knowledge and understanding of Constitutional Law by teaching the subject at a DC public high school for the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project.
