Michael D. Parola

Mike Parola focuses his practice on complex matters related to land use and zoning law in Washington, DC and Northern Virginia. Mike assists in advising developers and landowners on various land use and zoning matters to allow them to take their plans from concept, through administrative and county review, to completion. He also assists clients on leasing matters and easement agreements. Mike brings experience gained working in government affairs for a national home healthcare company and experience in Virginia politics to help clients navigate the uncertain world of local government and assist in bringing projects to fruition.

Prior to joining Venable, Mike served as an intern for Ranking Member Matt Cartwright of the U.S. House Appropriations Science, Commerce, and Justice subcommittee and a legal intern for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). While in law school, Mike gained legislative experience at the Georgetown Federal Legislation Clinic, where he assisted a national hunger nonprofit in advocating against potential cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
