Stephen Schiermeyer

Stephen Schiermeyer advises clients on matters related to transactional tax and tax planning. Prior to joining Venable, Stephen worked for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Office of Chief Counsel, where he drafted memoranda on various topics pertaining to exempt organizations and other tax areas, including the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) and the tax implications of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). Prior to that, Stephen worked at the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office, where he conducted legal research pertaining to ineffective assistance of counsel and discovery requests, and assisted in drafting responses to motions for post-conviction relief.
