An integral part of Venable's renowned Government Division, our environmental team represents clients in all aspects of federal and state environmental policy matters, including legislative efforts involving the nation's major environmental statutes, such as the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, the Toxic Substances Control Act, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, and more. We represent clients before Congress on legislative initiatives and before the executive branch and federal agencies with respect to the development of federal regulations involving all aspects of environmental and natural resources law. We assist clients from start to finish in the federal rulemaking process, including strategizing on and preparing rulemaking petitions, reviewing and commenting on proposed regulations and interfacing with key decisionmakers, providing input on the implementation of final rules, and, when necessary, participating in litigation on behalf of clients involving final regulations.
Because of our decades-long representation of one of the nation's largest power company trade associations and a wide spectrum of other clients before Congress, the courts, and federal agencies, we bring deep substantive knowledge and subject matter authority to environmental policy and regulatory issues for our clients. Not least because of our deep roots in Washington, DC, we are the go-to firm for environmental and natural resources policy, rulemaking, and regulatory activities.
