Len Goodman has earned accreditation as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED®-AP) from the U.S. Green Building Council -- one of only 194 attorneys in the country to have received this distinction. To obtain his certification, Len was required to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the LEED® rating system, and an appreciation for a multiplicity of sustainable design and construction practices that contribute to LEED® certification including site selection, water and energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.
Given the ever-increasing demand for high performance and sustainable buildings, Len is well positioned to counsel clients on the LEED® process and, most importantly, assist them in understanding and allocating the novel risks associated with pursuing "green" certification in their design and construction agreements.
The LEED® Green Building Rating System™ is the globally accepted rating and certification program for design, construction, operation, and maintenance of green buildings. As of 2008, LEED® has been specified as a guideline in executive orders, legislation, policies and incentives in 78 cities, 28 states, and 12 federal agencies across the U.S. For more information on the LEED® Green Building Rating System™, see www.usgbc.org.
