The recently released 2009 edition of Trademark Insider ranked Venable ninth among all US law firms based on the number of trademark applications submitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) during calendar year 2009. This year’s rankings represent the first time Venable, a perennial top 20 firm on the list, has penetrated the top 10.
The report also ranked Venable first among Washington, DC area firms in trademark applications. According to the report, the DC area was the third busiest trademark market in the country, ranking only behind New York and Los Angeles.
Venable partner Mark Harrison was ranked 17th among all US trademark attorneys by Trademark Insider, based on the number of trademark applications he filed during 2009.
