The Association of Baltimore Area Grantmakers (ABAG) is the Greater Baltimore region's premier resource on philanthropy, dedicated to informing grantmakers and improving the community. Waldman takes the helm of ABAG's Board as it untertakes a new five-year strategic plan designed to maximize the impact of philanthropic giving on community life by growing its network of diverse, informed and effective grantmakers.
ABAG was founded in 1983 with 12 foundations to provide a forum in which grantmaking colleagues could address common problems, approaches and interests. Today, ABAG has 120 members, including many of Maryland's largest foundations and corporations. Membership in ABAG is open to private, community, operating, corporate foundations or corporate giving programs.
