Business Transactions Group co-chair Chuck Morton was quoted in a September 9 Wall Street Journal article about large law firms creating programs to attract emerging technology companies and help them secure funding.
Venable’s Venture Services program, which was launched in July, was among the programs highlighted in the piece along with similar initiatives at DLA Piper, Cooley Godward Kronish and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.
To identify promising companies, Venable actively courts venture firms, asking them to encourage the best companies in their portfolio to participate in its program. "We're trying to pick the companies that are likely to be a good bet," Morton said.
