Venable Partners Ray Beeman and Sam Olchyk, along with Senior Legislative Advisors Robert Smith and Jake Seher, held a post-election briefing on November 3, which was highlighted in a USAE News article.
During the briefing, they discussed who would fill certain leadership roles, and specifically what changes in Congress would mean for special-interest groups, such as nonprofits.
Seher said, "It's a fascinating occurrence that took place yesterday. There is a significant influx of new faces in Congress. You're going to see a whole new set of persons running the day-to-day."
On the changes that come with new leadership, Smith said, "I don't think you're going to see Republicans play any games with silly things this time around." Seher added that while the newly elected would be "pretty accessible," there may be no way to predict what actually will happen in Congress."
