On Tuesday, January 10, 2012, after a two-day bench trial, Acting Justice Jeffrey Oing of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, New York County, rendered a verdict from the bench in favor of firm client Colliers ABR, Inc. Colliers, an international real estate brokerage and management company, sued Famurb Corporation and Chester Leasing, LLC, for failing to pay a brokerage commission after Colliers procured a tenant for space the defendants own in Manhattan.
The Venable team—Brian Dunning and Adam Possidente—secured summary judgment on liability in October. At trial, Dunning and Possidente convinced Justice Oing that Colliers was entitled to its full commission.
