Venable partner Mike Volpe was quoted in a February 10, 2012 Law360 article on a series of lawsuits filed against several law schools across the country alleging the schools are misleading students with inaccurate employment statistics. Volpe represents New York Law School in one of the suits.
Volpe said he “plans to assert that New York Law School's employment statistics complied with ABA regulations, and that compliance with such rules provides a defense against a claim under New York's deceptive trade practices law.” Added Volpe, “The ABA promulgates rules or regulations or standards that all accredited schools comply with.”
