Venable partner and former Transportation Secretary Jim Burnley was quoted in a May 13, 2012 Politico article on the importance of passing a new transportation bill in Congress. Infrastructure such as roads, bridges, runways, and ports are starting to show their age with an increasing population.
Commenting on the importance of passing a new transportation to address the problems of aging infrastructure, Burnley said, “The aspiration is to get a bill that carries us through the end of the next fiscal year, and then in writing hopefully a new multiyear bill in the next administration… If the Secretary of Transportation is willing and able to provide this kind of leadership, it could make a big difference.”
