In an article on September 19, 2012 Law360 quoted Venable partner Stu Ingis on the rise of privacy and data security practice groups among law firms in recent years. Privacy and data security was once considered a supplemental practice, and has now become a full-time operation for many firms due to the heightened scrutiny of companies by regulators, lawmakers and class action plaintiffs.
Highlighting Venable's role as a leader in the privacy and data security sector, Ingis said, "Venable LLP was also a front-runner in this space, establishing a privacy practice in 1998."
