Venable partner Stu Ingis was quoted in a November 7, 2012 Law360 article on a voluntary privacy code of conduct for mobile apps. At a White House backed meeting earlier this week, stakeholders agreed that a short form notice was a necessary component but disagreed over what the notice should contain and the pace of the process.
Commenting on the process and progress of creating the code, Ingis, who serves as counsel for the Digital Advertising Alliance, said, “All I'm reading [in recommendations presented by a breakout group at the meeting] is that short form can be effective if it has the right details…We've got four more years [because of President Obama's re-election Tuesday], but we're going to use all of them just to get through this process.”
