Venable senior legislative advisor Rob Smith
was quoted in an August 2, 2013 Law360
article on the possibility of comprehensive tax reform. In addition to comprehensive tax reform, the article also cited intellectual property reform, the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, and work tied to financial reform as areas contributing heavily to lobbying law firms’ workloads.
“The tax world is perpetually nervous and perpetually optimistic,” Smith said of recent talk about comprehensive tax reform. “But I think that Chairman Camp wants to mark up a bill this fall,” he added, referring to Rep. Dave Camp (R-MI) who chairs the House Ways and Means Committee.
