Mr. Thompson to serve three year term on IADC board


Baltimore, MD (August 5, 2014) – At its annual meeting in Vienna, Austria, the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) elected new members to its Board of Directors including Venable LLP's Craig A. Thompson. Mr. Thompson will serve a three year term on the Board of Directors.

A partner in Venable’s nationally recognized Product Liability & Mass Torts Group, Mr. Thompson represents clients in both federal and state courts in the areas of commercial litigation, product liability, premises liability and personal injury. An experienced and assertive trial lawyer and legal counselor with over 15 years of experience, Mr. Thompson handles civil cases before federal and state courts throughout Maryland. His clients range from Fortune 500 corporations to mezzanine-level companies. He has also built a thriving practice representing pharmacies in claims of alleged drug misfills As Chair of Venable’s Diversity Committee for five years, Mr. Thompson led the firm’s inclusion and diversity initiatives.

Mr. Thompson’s work has received numerous honors over the years including recognition by Legal 500 for Product Liability and Mass Tort Defense: Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices, The Best Lawyers in America for Product Liability Litigation, and the Maryland edition of Super Lawyers. He is also an active member of several national and local organizations including the American Bar Association, Maryland Bar Association, and Bar Association of Baltimore City among others. Mr. Thompson served as an adjunct professor and lecturer at the University of Maryland, College Park where he also serves on the board of trustees. He has also lectured at Georgetown University School of Law, Howard University School of Law, Penn State Dickinson School of Law, Penn State University, Washington and Lee School of Law and the College of William and Mary School of Law.
