Last week, Venable announced that Friedemann Thomma
, an international tax attorney who represents early-stage and large companies in a wide range of corporate and technology transactions, has joined the firm as a partner in the San Francisco office. Thomma focuses on helping clients design and optimize corporate tax structures, to facilitate deals and investments, and to access the capital markets. He often counsels on tax strategies stemming from mergers and acquisitions, such as IP migration planning, cost sharing, and toll manufacturing arrangements, as well as post-acquisition integration.
“Many of my clients are American growth companies that are either at the early stages of financing, or at the mid part of their life cycle,” Thomma told Law360
in a September 11, 2015 article announcing his move. “When I was thinking about my next move, I was looking for a platform that was, on the one hand, incredibly sophisticated, which Venable is. But at the same token, it provides a much, much shorter bench when it comes to [experience].”
