Venable attorneys Laura Reathaford and Kimberly Culp spoke at a WAVe-hosted event in our San Francisco office on Wednesday, September 14. The discussion centered around the California Fair Pay Act and tips for companies to handle any gaps in pay. The statute went into effect in January of this year and many companies have been working to come up with ways to make sure they are in compliance. The panelists addressed the steps many have taken over the past nine month-life of the act and answered questions pertaining to the language of the statute. Joining Laura and Kimberly on the panel were Linda Bidrossian, Senior VP at the Bay Area Council, Jennifer Reisch, Legal Director at the Equal Rights Advocates, and Jessica Tipton, General counsel for Silicon Valley tech company Vendavo.
