Venable recently announced that Joshua Raymond has joined the firm's Legislative and Government Affairs Group as a partner in Washington, DC. Raymond has more than 20 years of experience in the federal government, private practice, and the private sector advising senior policy makers and resolving complex legislative, regulatory, and reputational challenges for some of the country’s largest companies. Prior to joining Venable, he was the Executive Counsel of Government Affairs and Policy at General Electric. He began his career as a policy and budget analyst with the White House Office of Management and Budget before serving as a staff member to former Representative Darlene Hooley of Oregon. He later spent five years in private practice before returning to Capitol Hill to serve as Chief of Staff to then Representative and current Senator Christopher Murphy of Connecticut.
