On April 5, 2017, Law360 featured Venable's recent victory before the International Trade Commission (ITC) on behalf of EKO Brands in a patent infringement matter involving single-serving coffee pods. An ITC administrative law judge recommended that an order barring EKO from importing and selling the coffee pods be rescinded after a federal judge ruled the pods did not infringe on the patent of a California inventor. The judge's recommendation will now be reviewed by the full ITC.
