On March 1, 2019, Justin Pierce and Dominick Conde were recognized by the National Law Journal as 2019 Trailblazers in Intellectual Property. Honorees are selected based on the significant impact they've made in the legal industry. Following is an excerpt from the publication:

Trails Blazed: When Venable and Fitzpatrick Cella combined in November, Conde and Pierce became co-chairs of the IP division. Conde said, "My legacy is Fitzpatrick. It's a unique combination where an incredibly well-known IP boutique, Fitzpatrick, combined with a general practice firm, Venable. The firm and myself have been on the cutting edge of representing our pharma clients in a vast array of issues. In one case, we used emergency appellate court procedures to fix district court-level mistakes immediately. Pierce said, "The combination really reflects where law firms are going. That's noteworthy." Pierce's work involves minimizing counterfeits. He said, "We use a variety of tools which have not been employed before by private firms, such as litigation, freezing accounts and getting law enforcement involved."
