WASHINGTON, DC (August 1, 2019) – Venable LLP is pleased to announce that Allyson BakerLisa Jose Fales,  and Jessica Grant have been ranked among the Top 250 Women in Litigation for 2019 by Benchmark Litigation. This year marks the fourth time Ms. Fales has been named to the list and the first time for both Ms. Baker and Ms. Grant.

The Top 250 Women in Litigation is the product of an extensive research process encompassing six months of investigation into the individual litigators’ professional activities, client feedback surveys, and individual interviews. These women have earned their place among the leading female litigators by participating in some of the most impactful litigation matters in recent history, as well as by earning the hard-won respect of their peers and clients.

Allyson Baker, a partner and co-head of the firm’s Consumer Financial Services Practice in the Washington, DC office, has served as litigation counsel on some of the most significant and high-profile cases and investigations in the consumer financial services area. Recently, Allyson served as lead counsel in CFPB v. Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), resulting in a victory in the DC Circuit Court of Appeals – the first time in decades that a federal appeals court has struck down an administrative subpoena issued by the federal government.

Lisa Jose Fales, a partner, chair of the firm’s Antitrust Practice, and a co-chair of the Regulatory Practice in the Washington, DC office, represents Fortune 500, mid-market, and emerging businesses in antitrust, advertising, marketing, and regulatory matters.

Jessica Grant, a partner in the Commercial Litigation Practice in the San Francisco office, is a nationally recognized trial lawyer who represents clients in an array of business litigation matters. Ms. Grant is often asked to take over cases – particularly high-stakes cases – on the eve of trial. She has served as first chair in three cases with damages in excess of $100 million, and in two with damages of more than $500 million.

Now in its 12th year of publication, Benchmark exclusively covers the litigation and disputes market in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The original publication, Benchmark Litigation – the definitive guide to America’s leading litigation firms and attorneys – is the only publication to focus exclusively on U.S. litigation.
