On April 2, 2020, Jeremy Grant was featured on Government Matters discussing some of the security risks and limits of digital infrastructure revealed by COVID-19.
“Telework obviously introduced a whole bunch of risks into the equation. It’s one thing if you’re sitting at your desktop at a federal agency. They’re able to manage the device you’re on and manage the security environment,” said Grant. “We’re now having millions of employees working from home. Some of them aren’t on government issued devices.”
“It’s really important to make sure that you have some way to project out security there. For example, are they logging in with multifactor authentication? Are they able to connect with a VPN so that their data is encrypted back-and-forth? Things like that certainly become much more important,” he said.
