On behalf of Taylor Swift, Venable has countersued Utah fantasy theme park Evermore, alleging that they have been illegally using several of her copyrighted songs without a license for years.
The countersuit is in response to a February 2, 2021 lawsuit filed by Evermore Park that alleges trademark infringement over Ms. Swift’s December 2020 album of the same name and related merchandise. In a letter filed in court responding to a cease-and-desist letter from Evermore Park, Venable called the claims baseless and irresponsible.
Venable’s countersuit was covered by Law 360 on February 23, 2021.
