On April 30, 2021, the Daily Record announced the honorees of its 2021 Leadership in Law awards. Ken Thompson was recognized among the Lifetime Achievement Award honorees, which spotlights legal professionals who stand out by virtue of their body of work and exemplary careers. Stacie Tobin was recognized among the Leadership in Law Award honorees, a category that honors individuals whose leadership, in both the legal profession and the community, has made a positive impact on the state of Maryland. AJ Lynn and Thomasina Poirot were recognized among Maryland’s up-and-coming attorneys as Generation J.D. honorees. The honorees for all three categories will be recognized during a virtual event on June 17, 2021.
Ken Thompson, a partner in the Commercial Litigation Practice, is an experienced trial attorney who focuses his practice on civil, commercial, and product liability litigation. Ken is particularly well known in Maryland, where individuals and corporations rely on him to handle their cases with integrity and identify issues that can be resolved outside of court, while navigating a courtroom when necessary.
Stacie Tobin, partner-in-charge of Venable's Baltimore office and partner in the Commercial Litigation Practice, is a litigator who focuses on commercial and product liability matters. Stacie brings extensive litigation experience spanning a diverse range of matters and has tried dozens of cases to verdict while serving as first-chair counsel or co-counsel before federal and state courts across the United States.
AJ Lynn, a counsel in the Commercial Litigation Practice, represents clients in complex commercial litigation, including claims arising from breach of contract, fraud, related business torts, and securities and shareholder disputes. AJ has extensive experience counseling clients in a variety of industries, including cybersecurity, sports and entertainment, financial services, healthcare, life sciences, and nonprofit organizations.
Thomasina Poirot, a counsel in the Product Liability and Mass Torts Practice, focuses on complex pharmaceutical litigation and insurance coverage matters. Thomasina represents pharmaceutical and laboratory companies and has been a member of trial teams where she works with clients to prepare for fact witness and employee examinations, drafts dispositive motions and motions in limine, and assists with opening and closing statements and demonstratives.
