Noise in the Basement is a three-time winner of Law Rocks’ DC battle of the bands fundraiser and has featured various Venable attorneys over the years, including current partners Stephanie DeLong and Steve Freeland. The group performed at Law Rocks LA in 2017 at the world-famous Whiskey a Go Go. The group was also featured in the first ever Law Rocks-apalooza, a global virtual concert event in 2020. Over the course of five years, Noise in the Basement has raised $80,000 in donations, ticket sales, and sponsorships, of which a significant amount has been donated to Venable's pro bono client, Together We Bake.
Law Rocks hosts a series of battle of the band fundraising concerts in cities around the world, starring local legal professionals. Their mission is to promote music education for underprivileged youth and raise funds for local nonprofit organizations by combining the power of music and the generosity of the global legal community. Founded in 2012, Together We Bake empowers women who have experienced incarceration, homelessness, and long-term unemployment with the knowledge, job training, and life skills to improve their lives.
