This year’s conference will take place in National Harbor, Maryland from March 31 to April 3. Its purpose is to create a forum that enables Jack and Jill Teens to engage in leadership development activities, including educational, cultural, recreational, and philanthropic programs created for and by the Teens of the Eastern Region.
In 1938, the late Marion Stubbs Thomas founded Jack and Jill of America, Inc. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Twenty mothers came together to discuss creating an organization to provide social, cultural, and educational opportunities for youth between the ages of 2 and 19. Jack and Jill boasts 252 chapters nationwide, representing more than 40,000 family members. Each chapter plans annual activities guided by a general five-point program: cultural awareness, educational development, health (education and advocacy), and civic (legislative advocacy and service) and social/recreational areas.
