Mr. Murphy joins the firm as a partner in the Investigations and White Collar Defense Practice in the New York office. He focuses his practice on complex regulatory, criminal, and civil investigations. He is also a seasoned litigator and courtroom advocate, with extensive experience in state and federal courts throughout the country.
He represents clients in a variety of industries, including financial institutions, pharmaceutical companies, insurance carriers, and health insurers. His clients include large institutions and individuals, whom he represents in matters that require creative problem solving from a business-oriented lawyer and strategic counselor. Before joining Venable, Mr. Murphy was an assistant district attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and, more recently, in private practice at a major law firm.
