Venable finished 9th place in Legal Aid Society of DC’s Making Justice Real Campaign raising more than $82,000, making them the 14th law firm to ever hit that mark. In addition, the firm finished 5th in the 300+ Attorneys category, and more than 100 employees donated to the campaign, which was the most since 2020.
The Making Justice Real Campaign brings together thousands of people to support the mission of the Legal Aid Society of DC: to make justice real, in individual and systemic ways, for people in poverty in DC. This year the campaign raised $3.4 million.
For more than 90 years, Legal Aid DC lawyers have provided a continuum of legal services to clients in the areas of domestic violence/family, housing, public benefits, and consumer law. In addition to providing direct representation, they also help clients avoid unnecessary legal entanglements through outreach and education, and help them resolve their own disputes with advice and other brief assistance.
Venable’s 2023 Making Justice Real Campaign was run by Brian Melnyk, Christina Lara, and Dana Holmstrand.
