2 min

Venable partners Andrew Price, Glenn Moses, and Shahin Rothermel, accompanied by John Cunningham from Dickinson Wright, will perform with Andrew's band, Noise in the Basement, in the 9th Annual Law Rocks Washington, DC competition on September 12 at the legendary 9:30 Club. Noise in the Basement, four-time winner of Law Rocks, has raised more than $130,000 over the years, with a large part going to Together We Bake, a DC nonprofit that provides job training and empowerment programs to underserved women. This year proceeds raised by the band will be donated to Friends of ROAM, which provides the means necessary for young musicians in need to obtain the music instruction not otherwise available to them. Noise in the Basement got its start at the Rock of Ages Music (ROAM) music school.

More details, including how you can donate and buy tickets, can be found at https://lawrocks.org/dca (be sure to select "Noise in the Basement" at checkout). Donations go to Friends of ROAM; ticket proceeds support the event and Law Rocks' mission.

Noise in the Basement performs at Law Rocks

Noise in the Basement performed at Law Rocks LA in 2017 at the world-famous Whiskey a Go Go. The group was also featured in the first-ever Law Rocks-apalooza, a global virtual concert event in 2020. In 2022, the band played Law Rocks for Ukraine. The band was also proud to win the Judges' Choice Award at Law Rocks DC 2023, in addition to being named overall winner.

Since 2011, Rock of Ages Music (ROAM) has provided music education to hundreds of students. The program's professional private instruction, "rock school" ensembles, and summer camp programs enrich the lives of the students, create new music fans, and build a community of artistic support. These and other benefits are highly valued by ROAM students, their families, and the larger community. Because of program costs, however, these benefits are largely unavailable to community members who cannot afford the price of instruments and tuition necessary to participate in private music education programs. Friends of ROAM relies on the labor and expertise of interested and committed community volunteers led by a volunteer board of directors. For more information visit https://www.friendsofroam.org/.

Law Rocks hosts a series of battle of the band fundraising concerts in cities around the world, starring local legal professionals. Their mission is to promote music education for underprivileged youth and raise funds for local nonprofit organizations by combining the power of music and the generosity of the global legal community.
