3 min

Earlier this month, Adam Weg was named Attorney of the Year by Teach Democracy (formerly Constitutional Rights Foundation), a national leader in civic education for over six decades, in recognition of his outstanding commitment to volunteer service and legal education. This prestigious honor celebrates Adam’s exceptional dedication to fostering civic engagement and his significant contributions to Teach Democracy’s Mock Trial Program, which helps students acquire a working knowledge of our judicial system, develop analytical abilities and communication skills, and gain an understanding of their obligations and responsibilities as participating members of our society.

A passionate advocate for civic education, Adam has devoted countless hours to mentoring Los Angeles students, providing legal insights, and inspiring the next generation of legal professionals through his work with the Mock Trial program. His leadership and generosity have played a pivotal role in empowering young minds with the knowledge and confidence to navigate the legal system.

”We’re proud to honor Adam for his dedication and volunteer service to improve civic learning among our Mock Trial participants,” said Teach Democracy chief executive officer Stephanie Doute. “It is through these dynamic experiences that young people are able to gain important knowledge that can shape their career paths and teach them how to make a positive impact in their communities.”

Teach Democracy selected Adam for this award based on his tireless support and commitment to legal education. Through programs like Mock Trial, the organization provides students with hands-on experience in the legal field, fostering critical thinking and advocacy skills.

“I am deeply honored to receive this recognition from Teach Democracy,” said Adam. “Working with students through the Mock Trial program has been an incredibly rewarding experience. It is inspiring to see their passion for the law and their eagerness to learn about our justice system. I am grateful to be part of an initiative that helps shape future leaders.”

The award was presented at Teach Democracy's 23rd Annual Justice James A. Cobey Volunteer Reception on March 13 at Winston & Strawn LLP (333 S. Grand Avenue) in Los Angeles.
