ARLnow Quotes Zach Williams on Langston Blvd Redevelopment Plan

On August 4, ARLnow quoted Zach Williams on a redevelopment proposal in Arlington County. The project is one of the first major redevelopment proposals along Langston Boulevard, and it is drawing mixed reactions as it enters the formal community review process.

According to the article, the Site Plan Review Committee (SPRC) met on July 24 and debated whether a proposed 12-story, boomerang-shaped building with 310 residential units at 3130 Langston Blvd will align with the goals outlined in the Langston Boulevard Area Plan. The development would be bounded by Langston Boulevard, Kirkwood Road, and I-66.

The project, initially announced last summer, has sparked interest among residents and officials, “This is the first project on Langston Blvd. A lot of folks are interested,” explained Williams.

A second SPRC meeting is expected this fall, though a firm date has not yet been scheduled. Following the SPRC process, the proposal will be reviewed by a series of government advisory panels. The Planning Commission will then issue a recommendation, with final approval resting with the County Board.
