Justin Pierce, a co-chair of Venable's Intellectual Property Division, was ranked in aerospace/automotive, banking/financial services, defense, electronics, IAM/IC, IP management consultancy, legal, licensing, media, semiconductors, software, and telecommunications. Mr. Pierce has significant experience advising companies and their executives on how best to acquire, develop, and apply their intellectual property to achieve their business objectives. He has guided clients through a wide range of matters involving patent litigation, trademark and brand protection, anti-counterfeiting initiatives, copyright, design rights, trade secrets, and licensing.
Mr. Pierce is also well versed in strategies for handling rights of publicity, domain name, and social media disputes. He routinely advises companies with respect to artificial intelligence and cutting-edge issues involving intellectual property.
Jeannine Yoo Sano, a partner in Venable’s Intellectual Property Division, was ranked in defensive patent aggregation, electronics, engineering/construction, IP management consultancy, legal, licensing, media, medical devices, semiconductors, software, technology transfer, and telecommunications. She is a first-chair trial lawyer and has more than 30 years of experience handling patent and trade secret trials in tribunals across the country in technology fields such as mobile communications, video processing, graphics, operating systems, memory, power management, medical devices, and semiconductor manufacturing. Ms. Sano has also obtained wins at the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court, in addition to prevailing on an issue of first impression before the California Courts of Appeal on the Uniform Trade Secrets Act (UTSA).
