Washington Business Journal Quotes Zach Williams on a DC Restaurant Project

On September 3, the Washington Business Journal featured insights from Zach Williams on a new restaurant and live entertainment proposal in Washington, DC.

According to the article, a restaurant developer has filed an application with the D.C. Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) to open a pizza restaurant and a live events venue at 1630 14th Street, NW. The application requests a variance to allow more street frontage.

“The pizza shop and events venue would need 50 feet of frontage,” Williams explained. “Along that stretch of 14th Street, food-and-beverage frontage is capped at 200 feet and all but 13 feet is already occupied by other establishments.”

Williams also noted that the project will advance the goals of the city’s ARTS district. “The proposed event venue would be in keeping with the ARTS district’s goals,” he said. “The venue will showcase everything from live jazz and three-piece bands to DJs and other types of performances. Live entertainment is expected six nights a week, except Mondays, with capacity between 90 and 110 seats.”

If approved, the venue would bring Detroit-style pizza and live music to the corridor.
