The plaintiff claimed the hospital fired her because of her age and Latina ancestry rather than her performance. After nearly three weeks of trial in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the jury deliberated less than 30 minutes before ruling for Cedars-Sinai on all claims. Saavedra v. Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Case No. 24STCV03627 (L.A. Super., Ct. filed Feb. 13, 2024)
Ebby S. Bakhtiar, PC, in Los Angeles represented the plaintiff. Venable partners Dan Hoffer, Ryan Andrews and Ellia Thompson led the defense.
“We are grateful to the jury for its thoughtful consideration of all the evidence over the course of this lengthy trial,” stated Ryan Andrews, co-lead counsel. “We believed the facts and evidence would carry the day. The jury agreed.”
