Brian L. Klock

Brian Klock is adept at viewing legal disputes in the context of a client’s business and taking a "big picture" approach, ensuring that his advice to clients makes good business sense in addition to being legally sound. That is one reason clients have repeatedly relied on his litigation skills for over 20 years when confronted with patents alleged to have industry-wide impact.

In addition, Brian represents clients in contested proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and has more than 25 years of experience in patent prosecution, including working as a patent examiner at the USPTO while in law school.

Whether in litigation or USPTO contested proceedings, Brian recognizes the importance of understanding the technology at issue in depth, and his technical aptitude enables him to do so.

Before joining Venable, Brian has spent his entire career in private practice at Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto.
