GTMO and Detainee Due Process: Whither or Whether? Law and Public Policy in the Indefinitie Detention of Uncharged Alien Terrorist Suspects

Carol Elder Bruce, who is Chair of the International Committee of the American College of Trial Lawyers, will be the moderator of a CLE panel discussion at the Spring Meeting of the American College in Palm Springs, California, on Thursday, March 8, 2007.

The panel, GTMO and Detainee Due Process: Whither or Whether? Law and Public Policy in the Indefinitie Detention of Uncharged Alien Terrorist Suspects, includes Joe Margulies, a Northwestern University law professor who represented Rasul of Rasul v. Bush fame and who also authored a book on the Guantanamo detention policies and practices; John Bellinger III, the current Legal Advisor at the U.S. Department of State; Elizabeth Ainslie, a Schnader Harrison partner and an American College Fellow who, like Carol, represents Guantanamo Bay detainees; and Andy McCarthy, a conservative legal commentator who also is the Director of the Center for Law & Counterterrorism at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies in Washington, D.C.
