Robert Khuzami, Director of the SEC’s Division of Enforcement, just announced the “biggest re-organization of the Enforcement Division in more than 30 years.”
The SEC’s newest and boldest initiative includes the formation of five National Specialized Units - placing Asset Manager and Investment Advisers directly in the cross hairs.
First and foremost the SEC’s new Asset Management Unit will target hedge funds, private equity, investment advisers, and investment companies. Additionally, the other Specialized Units targeting Asset Managers include, Market Abuse, Structured and New Products, Public Pensions.
