"Social Media Legal Risks and Strategy," Marcus Evans conference

This event has already occurred.
Four Points Sheraton
Washington, DC

Many organizations are utilizing the power of social media to get their services and brands further into the public sphere. Sites such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn have made it very easy to contact practitioners within organizations, maintain relationships and increase business opportunities. However, some organizations are still hesitant to maximize their use of online networking. Risks such as breach of privacy, fear of legal action, developing a negative reputation and lack of control have given way to avoidance of this important tool.

Attendees will benefit from more than 15 lead counsel perspectives on how to best manage and mitigate the risks of utilizing social media for their organization’s marketing and branding strategies. This 2-day content driven conference will take place in an intimate classroom style that will allow for attendees and speakers to engage and collaborate with one another to benchmark best practices.

Melissa Landau Steinman will speak on "Addressing the Legal Risks and Impact of Recent Pending Cases and Government Investigations."

Jeffrey D. Knowles will join a panel to address "Uncovering the Legal Risk as Organizations Leverage Social Media for Marketing and Advertising Purposes."
