"The Impact, Expectations and the Future of the CFPB on Credit Unions" webcast for NAFCU

This event has already occurred.

Although the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) may not be your primary regulator, every action they take will have a profound effect on your activities over the coming year. Credit unions need to be mindful of rules and regulations that will be coming down the pike and aware of their impact on credit unions.

This summer, the Bureau is scheduled to release a deluge of mortgage-related regulations with the adoption of the final rule intended to be released by January 2013 and an effective date around July 2013. These rules will impact every CU that produces mortgage loans.

Venable attorney Susan Garwood will discuss the CFPB’s existing and upcoming rulemaking activities and how they will affect all CUs, even those that are not directly supervised by the Bureau. You’ll learn how the bureau operates, the work that has already been completed, their current focus, what the future holds, and how the CFPB is impacting credit unions.

Attendees of this webcast will benefit from:

  • Compliance advice on how to best conform with the CFPB and their rules
  • Practical insight for mortgage lending
  • Insight into the CFPB's anticipated activities
