The safety and security of students is the number one most important responsibility of a school. Sadly, the news has been filled with reports of sexual abuse and misconduct of minors in educational settings. Creating proactive strategies for protecting students will hopefully keep students safe and will assist schools limit liability in the chance that such misconduct occurs. This session will review strategies that schools can take including the drafting and review of policies and procedures related to the reporting of abuse, preventing such acts, proper interactions between adults and students as well as students and students and ways to educate members of the community on these important issues.
