Student misconduct is a challenge for all schools. A critical part of minimizing harmful student behavior is attracting, admitting, and developing safe students. Participants will explore the liability exposure in failing to properly vet students or failing to create a safe student environment. Properly designing admissions, enrollment, conduct, and discipline policies can help pave the way to a safe student body. This session will offer practical strategies for vetting and disciplining students, and will review best practices for resolving incidents of misconduct. The participants will engage in discussions about social media, gender identity, and other issues in student safety.
