Amy Mudge will present "Retail Pricing and Marketing in the Digital Era: Understanding the Competition Act – Pitfalls and Opportunities" at Canadian Bar Association Competition Fall Conference.

The growth of e-commerce has the potential to increase competition within retail markets, enhance consumer choice and facilitate innovation. It is no surprise that the Competition Bureau continues to focus its enforcement and advocacy efforts on online and mobile advertising as well as digital pricing practices. An experienced panel will review strategies and policies relating to retail pricing in Canada and the United States, including how to safely make ordinary price claims and how to avoid misleading or improper pricing practices in the digital era. The panel will also discuss inappropriate data practices, consent challenges in the digital era and the PIPEDA and CASL implications of targeted advertising.
