Join Venable's eCommerce, Privacy, and Cybersecurity Group for the second program in its Privacy Law and Policy Webinar Series, to discuss the legal and policy developments in education technology and children’s privacy. The use of technology in education has significantly expanded with classrooms forced to move online because of the pandemic. As a result, regulatory scrutiny of children’s online privacy has also increased. This program will provide attendees with a better understanding of:

  • Existing regulations and guidance, including the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and their guidance for schools relying on Ed Tech, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and state laws
  • Compliance considerations for companies that collect and store children’s personal information
  • Potential enforcement actions

Following the discussion, our team will lead a Q&A session.
