Michael A. Signorelli, partner, Venable LLP, will kick off the session with an update on regulatory developments in the United States that are relevant for advertisers. In particular, he’ll update the group on

  • Upcoming state privacy laws and how brands should be preparing for the entry into force of California’s CPRA in January 2023, and Colorado’s Privacy Act in July 2023
  • Efforts to introduce age-appropriate design codes and protect children’s privacy online, including the recently proposed Kids Internet Design and Safety Act, Kids PRIVCY Act, and Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA)
  • The Federal Trade Commission’s plans to address market abuses and enforcement action against so-called dark patterns
