Venable attorney Fred Wagner will present “Legal Ethics of Remote Working and Working Virtually and Update on Ethical Limitations of Advocacy” at the 61st Annual Workshop on Transportation Law, to be hosted by Transportation Research Board, on July 27, 2022.

The litigation bringing various challenges to the 2020 election results brought significant attention to issues pertaining to the ethical limitations of advocacy under the Rules of Professional Conduct. Some 65 lawsuits were dismissed; in some instances, the trial court sanctioned the lawyers bringing the lawsuits and in some instances referred the lawyers to their state bar licensing authority. Several important trial court decisions were appealed. Many of the ethical questions those cases posed continue to be of concern in 2022. The presenters will discuss those issues, recent developments, where things stand today, and what advocates need to be mindful of going forward in responsibly representing their clients. There will also be a discussion of legal ethics issues associated with remote/virtual work. For more information and to register, please click here.
