Venable sponsored the American Conference Institute's 28th Annual Conference on Drug and Medical Device Litigation on December 5 and 6, 2023. The annual event unites stakeholders in product liability defense from industry, private practice, and government, and fosters networking, collaboration, and strategic planning concerning the present landscape and future developments in product liability. This year's conference in New York gathered over 400 attendees, with 65 speakers participating in panels and workshops.
Venable partner Lawrence Cooke spoke at one of the event’s panels, “Understanding When and How to Successfully Engage the FDA in Your Case.” The session took place on the first day of the conference, December 5, 2023, and examined case scenarios in which it is beneficial to seek out FDA involvement. The panelists also discussed strategies for involving the FDA in legal defense and the impact of FDA-based evidence and public perception on case dynamics.
