Adrienne Gurley will be participating in the National Association of Federal Equity Receivers (NAFER) 2024 Annual Conference, taking place in Santa Barbara, California on October 27-30. Adrienne will be a featured panelist on the topic "DOJ Forfeitures, Cooperation and Receiver Appointments." The panel will be moderated by Patrick Miles, partner, Barnes & Thornburg LLP. She will be joined by Jennifer Bickford, unit chief, U.S. Department of Justice, and Jane K. Lee, senior attorney advisor in the U.S. Department of Justice, Criminal Division, Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Section's (MLARS) Program Management and Training Unit.
The panel will discuss the types of cases and special issues involved when the U.S. Department of Justice utilizes federal equity receivers. The DOJ attorneys will speak to their work and the work of receivers identifying assets, handling forfeitures, fulfilling restitution orders, and responding to petitions by victims or classes of victims.
