Venable partners Mike Signorelli and Rob Hartwell and associate Matt Stern presented a co-hosted webinar with Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA), “DOJ’s Bulk Data Rule and Digital Advertising: Are You a Data Broker Now?” on April 3.
New laws and regulations are intended to safeguard the personal data of Americans from access by foreign adversaries. The most recent of those regulations is the Department of Justice’s “Bulk Data Rule,” which prohibits access to certain data critical to data-driven advertising by countries of concern and other covered entities. Presenters discussed the new rule’s impact on the digital ad ecosystem for advertisers, publishers, data companies, and adtech. This webinar examined how to address the Bulk Data Rule’s impact on the data environment, as well as evolving regulations in California under the Delete Act and the Protecting Americans’ Data from Foreign Adversaries Act (PADFA).
